LSN has always sought to offer value to the greater life science fund raising ecosystem by providing free educational material both via webinars and in-person seminars. To continue this tradition, RESI Boston, in partnership with Certara, is offering a free, in-person event in Boston on September 21 called the Biotech Forum.

The Biotech Forum is a strategic workshop designed for biotech executives, founders, and investors who want to sharpen their development plan, de-risk their program, and enter RESI, JPM 2027 and other fundraising meetings with clarity and confidence. In a single focused day, expert speakers will address the early-stage decisions that most often derail promising programs and show you how to avoid them before you step into critical partnering and investor conversations, including a dedicated session on how to prepare for, run, and follow up on your investor meetings.

The Biotech Forum will be catered with breakfast, lunch and snacks, and will be followed by a networking reception. If you are a biotech company, you can register here. This is a great opportunity not only to learn, but also to network with other ecosystem participants. We look forward to seeing you there.

Hot Investor Mandate: Fund Established by Medtech Professionals Invests from Seed to Series B Across Medical Devices and Diagnostics in High Unmet Need Areas

The firm is an early-stage venture capital fund established by a group of experienced medical device industry professionals in Asia. The firm typically invests approximately $700K–$3M in companies raising Angel, Pre-Series A, Series A, and Series B financings. The firm invests through a local-currency fund and therefore places a strong emphasis on international companies willing to establish a joint venture or meaningful operating presence in Asia. The firm’s partners leverage extensive medical device industry experience and local networks to help portfolio companies establish and grow their businesses in the Asian market.

The firm primarily invests in medical devices and in vitro diagnostics, with particular expertise in cardiology, neuromodulation, diagnostic technologies, and medical imaging. The firm is also interested in R&D services and AI-enabled healthcare technologies, particularly technologies that use artificial intelligence to improve medical imaging, diagnostic accuracy, or clinical efficiency. While these areas represent the firm’s core expertise, the firm remains open to other differentiated medical technologies with strong development and commercialization potential.

From a company and management team perspective, the firm strongly prefers opportunities with a clear Asia strategy and companies willing to collaborate closely with its investment partners. The firm can support international companies through local industry relationships, access to industrial and commercialization networks, and assistance in identifying potential non-dilutive funding opportunities. The firm seeks management teams that are receptive to strategic involvement and can leverage the firm’s operating experience and local resources to establish and expand their presence in Asia.

Hot Investor Mandate: VC Firm Invests in Seed to Series A Life Sciences & Healthcare Companies in US, Europe, Asia, Investing Up to $3M

The firm invests broadly across life sciences, including therapeutics, medical devices, diagnostics, and digital health. The firm is indication-agnostic and seeks cutting-edge technologies addressing a wide range of healthcare needs. As an early-stage investor, the firm is comfortable evaluating technologies at the preclinical or early development stage and maintains a flexible approach to different technologies and business models.

From a company and management team perspective, the firm does not impose specific requirements. The firm can act as either a lead investor or co-investor, although the firm generally seeks a more active role and may prefer to lead when investing in very early-stage companies. Through relationships with healthcare organizations and strategic partners, the firm can also provide portfolio companies with operational, commercialization, and business development support.

A Europe-based investment group invests through an evergreen structure. The firm typically deploys approximately $2–$20M per company and invests primarily in private companies with a focus on the Nordic region. Investments are generally structured as equity, although convertible loans may also be considered. The firm has a long track record of supporting healthcare companies through growth and public-market exits and typically seeks a small number of new investments each year.

Within life sciences and healthcare, the firm focuses on therapeutics, medical technology, and healthtech. For therapeutics, the firm generally targets clinical-stage drug development companies and has particular interest in oncology and orphan or rare diseases. Within medical technology, the firm considers all device classes but generally favors companies approaching commercialization. In healthtech, the firm prioritizes solutions with demonstrated willingness to pay and sustainable business models, with a particular preference for B2B opportunities.

From a company and management team perspective, the firm seeks private companies with strong development or commercial potential and takes an active approach following investment. Max-Braht-Headshot

RESI Boston September 2026 brings together one of the largest gatherings of early-stage life science investors, pharmaceutical and medtech business development professionals, strategic partners, and innovators during Biotech Week Boston. With two days of in-person networking, educational panels, company presentations, the Innovator’s Pitch Challenge, an active exhibit hall, and dedicated one-on-one partnering, RESI is designed to help emerging life science companies build the relationships that drive fundraising, licensing, strategic partnerships, and commercialization.

One of the event’s most valuable features launches Monday, August 17: the RESI partnering platform.

Beginning August 17, registered attendees can start scheduling one-on-one meetings with investors, pharmaceutical business development teams, strategic partners, and service providers well in advance of the conference.

The RESI series continues to be one of the world’s largest early-stage life science partnering events, bringing together hundreds of active investors and strategic partners focused on biotechnology, AI, medical devices, diagnostics, digital health, and life science tools. Whether attending in person or virtually, participants can use Life Science Nation’s (LSN) proprietary partnering platform to identify organizations that align with their technology, stage of development, therapeutic focus, and fundraising objectives.

Launching your partnering outreach early is one of the best ways to maximize your RESI experience.
