Hot Life Science Investor Mandate 5: PE Firm Seeks Companies with Shortened Regulatory Path

4 Jun

A private equity firm based in Connecticut seeks to provide growth capital to life science companies. The group invests up to $10M in equity, venture debt, or traditional mezzanine. The fund prefers VC backed companies. Funding opportunities are reserved for companies in or willing to relocate to Connecticut.

The group prefers products with a short regulatory pathway, with a preference for medical devices. The firm typically avoids pure drug discovery, unless the product has an expedited regulatory pathway or is in later stages of approval. For medical devices, the group seeks technology with market traction. This includes companies with sales or a product in use by thought leaders.

The firm is willing to lead investments but prefers to act as a co-investor. The group invests in companies with established technology and a strong management team with deep domain experience.
