Best Practices for Digital RESI November

10 Nov

By Dennis Ford, Founder and CEO of Life Science Nation, Creator of the RESI Conference Series

DF-News-09142022Commonality creates dialogue which determines fit. Finding a partner who is a fit for your stage of development and product has to be paramount. Dialogue based on fit facilitates relationships which, when nurtured and developed, leads to friendships and transactions. Building a successful partner relationship requires enhancing your perspective by trying to stand in the other persons shoes and always checking in with simple yet revealing questions.

  • How do you think we are progressing thus far?
  • What are your thoughts about going forward are we moving in the right direction?
  • We have met a few times can you share with me where you are at presently and what you feel needs to get done?

These “check-in” questions are easy to ask and non-threatening but asked at the right time can put you in context on where your potential partner is at.  Being in context is one of the keys to creating a dynamic partnership.

By Antoinette Lowre, Manager of Business Development, LSN

At our last RESI conference in Boston this past September, we were excited to see so many different company types showcasing their product and/or services. Exhibitors included service providers, tech hub groups, and even some startup companies who brought their products for live demonstrations to the RESI community.

The Innovator’s Pitch Challenge (IPC) taking place on January 10, as a part of the RESI San Francisco at JPM event is now accepting applications to its waiting list. This year’s pent-up demand for face-to-face partnering is a trend we’ve seen throughout 2022, and most notably at RESI Boston in September. The IPC is a popular feature of RESI, and we are thrilled that, due to high demand, we are now accepting waitlist applications. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to attend LSN’s flagship event of the year, RESI San Francisco, during the biggest partnering week in the life sciences industry. The game is afoot!

The Power of an Evolving Pitch

3 Nov

By Karen Deyo, Director of Investor Research, Israel BD, LSN

The RESI conference schedule is based on the reality that startups need to connect with investors multiple times over the course of a year to build and maintain relationships to close fundraising deals. The power of RESI is not just in the chance to meet with an ever-rotating list of new and familiar faces, but also to gauge the traction of your pitch as your company grows and develops.

A company’s pitch is always evolving – as you advance and achieve milestones, necessary pivots, and strategy changes based on your product development, you hone your story. As your story shifts, you start the process anew to find what message resonates the most with your investor audience. As frustrating as it may seem, attending frequent events and taking as many meetings as possible is a necessary step to gaining valuable feedback, as well as allowing you to close your deals.

Digital RESI, November 15-16, is focused entirely on virtual partnering – register today to request meetings with these investors  to make connections. RESI JPM is just around the corner, Life Science Nation (LSN)’s biggest event of the year – don’t miss out on your chance to hone your pitch before then!

RESI Bundle Extended to Tomorrow

27 Oct

By Caitlin Dolegowski, Marketing Specialist, LSN

The end of the year is a critical time for early-stage fundraising. It is imperative for founders to end the year on a strong note and be ready to continue connections and building new relationships into the new year. To aid in this endeavor, Life Science Nation (LSN) is offering an extended bundle for Digital RESI, November 15-16 and RESI JPM San Francisco, January 10-12.

Digital RESI is LSN’s virtual event, featuring two days of dedicated partnering. This event provides early-stage entrepreneurs with the opportunity to connect with capital and licensing partners who are a fit for their product and stage of development before the end of the year. If Digital RESI November is a dress rehearsal, then consider RESI JPM San Francisco opening night. RESI JPM San Francisco is a hybrid event taking place during the JPM healthcare week – the life science industry’s biggest event of the year. The hybrid format features a day of in-person partnering, live investor panels, educational workshops, and the Innovator’s Pitch Challenge (applications now open!) on January 10, followed by two days of dedicated virtual partnering to allow attendees to take advantage of the RESI platform while also experiencing all the events taking place simultaneously.

The bundle package extended deadline is tomorrow, October 28. Sign up to take advantage of these deals and save $1,000 to ensure a strong end to the 2022 fundraising season and a promising start to the next one.
